11th MyPSA NPDC 2025
MyPSA National Pharmacy Debate Competition
The MyPSA National Pharmacy Debate Competition (NPDC) is an annual national debate competition under the Malaysian Pharmacy Students' Association (MyPSA), which involves 21 universities’ local societies in Malaysia. As a dynamic and learner-centred initiative, NPDC aims to sharpen participants’ critical thinking skills, broaden their perspectives beyond the academic curriculum, and strengthen their confidence as future leaders in the healthcare sector.
This year, the MyPSA Professional Development Office is honoured to organise the 11th MyPSA NPDC 2025 and open recruitment for organising committees, welcoming passionate pharmacy students from all local societies to join in making this event a success. The theme for NPDC 2025 is: "Voices for Value: Debating the Next Frontier in the Healthcare Sector."
This theme captures the evolving role of pharmacists within an increasingly complex healthcare landscape. It encourages participants to explore and debate current and emerging issues in the Malaysian pharmacy sector, highlighting the importance of innovation, advocacy, and value-driven healthcare.
ACTIVITIES:
The competition was conducted through multiple rounds, including 3 Preliminary Rounds, 1 Semi-Final and 1 Grand Final. Each round challenged teams to debate from both the affirmative and opposing perspectives on carefully curated, thought-provoking motions prepared by the Debate Coordination Department. A transparent and well-structured scoring system was used to ensure fairness throughout the competition.
NPDC 2025 featured a hybrid format, with preliminary rounds held virtually and the semi-finals and finals conducted in person, offering participants both accessibility and an engaging, immersive experience.
