MyPSA Pharmacy Graduate Career Forum
MyPSA Pharmacy Graduate Career Forum (PGCF) 2024 serves as a whole-day event which consists of Provisionally Registered Pharmacist (PRP) sharing sessions, talk shows, and a networking session. The theme, "Empowering Pharmacy Professionals for Tomorrow," emphasises the forum's role in equipping pharmacy graduates with the knowledge, skills, and networks crucial to boosting their careers. It focuses on proactive career planning, continuous learning, and providing insights into diverse career pathways, especially regarding PRP training.
The program begins with the registration of participants and the setup of booths by pharmacy companies. The opening ceremony is then continued with the grand arrival of important guests (VIPs and VVIPs) and mainboards of the MyPSA PGCF 2024 organizing committee. The event began with an opening speech given by the collaboration partner of MyPSA PGCF 2024, the Monash School of Pharmacy, represented by Prof. Shaun Lee, Head of the Monash School of Pharmacy, and Dr. Wong Yen Jun. The opening speech was then followed by Mr. Lok Kok Hou, President of Monash Malaysia Pharmacy Alumni, Mr. Issac Danker, National Advisor of MyPSA, and Ms Ng Guo Yi, Vice President I of MyPSA.
Registration & Opening Ceremony
PRP Sharing Session
During the PRP sharing session, Ms. Emily Chin Jia Xuan, Ms. Hong Xi Wen, Ms. Tan Nian Wan, and Ms. Jen Ng Yu Jie shared their experiences in hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy, local manufacturing plants, and multinational pharmaceutical companies, respectively. Each sharing session lasted 30 minutes, followed by a 10-minute Q&A session. The Q&A session ended at 12:30 p.m., and the lunch break started.
Networking Booth
The networking session was conducted simultaneously with the lunch break, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. A total of four companies were involved in the networking booths: MPS-YPC, Health Lane Family Pharmacy, Caring Pharmacy, Mega Kulim Pharmacy and Monash Research.
Graduate Forum
Forum session 1 (Conventional Field Pharmacy) started at 3:00 p.m., with speakers Ms. Ng Li Ching (Private Hospital Pharmacist), Ms. Dhiviya Navarasan (Pharmacist), Mr. Sean Liew (Community Pharmacist), Mr. Lim Chan Pheng (Industry Pharmacist), and Ms. Rachel Chong Sze Qi (Moderator).
Forum session 2 (Postgraduate Studies) began at 4:10 p.m., with speakers Mr. Lim Jing Sheng (Provisionally Registered Pharmacist), Mr. Lesley Pua Jia Wei (Community Pharmacist), Dr. Ruth Sim (Epidemiologist Pharmacist), Dr. Wong Yen Jun (Lecturer), and Mr. Khong Hua Jun (Moderator).
A closing speech was given by Ms. Tan Xin Yan, Chairperson of the MyPSA Pharmacy Graduate Career Forum 2024, at 5:10 p.m. A group photo was taken by the Multimedia team following the session. The workshop officially ended at 5:30 p.m. with the dismissal of participants.
