MyPSA Step Into Pharmacy School
MyPSA Step Into Pharmacy School (SIPS) 2025 was an online webinar held from 6th to 8th June 2025. It was organised to equip 50 pre-university students with essential interview skills for pharmacy school admission. With the theme “Pathway to Pharmacy: Begin Your Journey,” the program features a sharing session by expert, mentor-mentee programme, pharmacy student forum, and mock interviews session. The planning involved a detailed timeline and role-specific organising committees to ensure smooth execution. The event successfully addressed common challenges such as anxiety and lack of exposure by providing structured guidance, practice, and feedback. As a result, participants gained confidence, enhanced critical thinking, and were better prepared for interviews, increasing their chances of securing admission into pharmacy programs.
ACTIVITIES:
DAY 1:
Conducted virtually on 6th June 2025 (Friday) with a total participant count of 69 participants. The programme commenced with opening remarks and a welcoming speech by the MyPSA President, followed by an expert sharing session that provided participants with insights into pharmacy education and pharmacy career. The evening continued with a mentor–mentee programme and a pharmacy student forum, where participants had the opportunity to interact with pharmacy students, gain guidance, and learn more about the journey into pharmacy school
DAY 2:
Conducted on 7th June 2025 (Saturday) virtually via Zoom with a total participant count of 69 participants. The second day focused on mock interview sessions designed to prepare participants for pharmacy school and pharmacy career admission interviews. Participants attended pre-interview briefings before engaging in simulated interviews conducted by experienced interviewers. The sessions concluded with debriefing segments where constructive feedback and guidance were provided to help participants improve their interview performance.
DAY 3:
Conducted on 8th June 2025 (Sunday) virtually via Zoom. The final day continued with additional mock interview sessions, allowing more participants to practise their interview skills in a structured environment. Similar to the previous day, each session included a pre-interview briefing and concluded with a debriefing session, where interviewers shared personalised feedback to help participants build confidence and better prepare for future pharmacy school and pharmacy career interviews.
