MyPSA Step Into Pharmacy School
MyPSA Step Into Pharmacy School (SIPS) 2026 was organised by MyPSA Project Office 2025/26 to provide pre-university students with insights into pharmacy education, career pathways, and university life. The programme aimed to guide participants in making informed decisions about pursuing a pharmacy degree while enhancing their understanding of pharmacy school admission requirements and preparing them for the application process.
The planning phase involved coordinating the expert speaker, scholarship talk speakers, student forum speakers, mentors, interviewers, programme schedules, participant recruitment, publicity, and technical arrangements. The organising committee worked closely to ensure smooth communication, resource coordination, and effective event management.
The programme was conducted online via ZOOM, from 5th to 7th June 2026 and featured various educational and interactive sessions, including scholarship talks, mentor-mentee sharing, pharmacy student forums, expert sharing session, and mock interview sessions. These activities allowed participants to gain first-hand insights into the pharmacy student experience, receive practical guidance, and engage directly with pharmacy students and professionals.
The event was successfully implemented with active participation and engagement from participants throughout the programme.. Participants reported increased understanding of pharmacy education, admission processes, scholarship opportunities, and potential career pathways. Overall, MyPSA Step Into Pharmacy School (SIPS) 2026 achieved its objectives of inspiring future pharmacy students, enhancing their preparedness for pharmacy school applications, and fostering meaningful connections between participants and the pharmacy community.
ACTIVITIES:
DAY 1:
The programme commenced on 5th June 2026 (Day 1) with the arrival of participants, followed by opening remarks by the emcee and a welcoming speech by the MyPSA President. This was followed by a Speaker Introduction and the Sharing Session by an invited expert, where valuable insights into pharmacy career pathways and pharmacy related experiences were shared. Subsequently, the Scholarship Talk was conducted to guide participants on available academic funding opportunities. After a short break, the programme continued with the Pharmacy Student Forum, where student speakers shared their personal experiences and perspectives on studying pharmacy. The day concluded with a closing ceremony.
DAY 2:
On 6th June 2026 (Day 2), the programme began with participant arrival and a pre-interview briefing. This was followed by the Mock Interview Session conducted by three lecturers from various universities, allowing participants to experience an interview setting and receive constructive feedback. In parallel, student mentors
facilitated the Mentor-Mentee Sessions, providing guidance and academic advice throughout the session. The day concluded with a debriefing session.
DAY 3:
7th June 2026 (Day 3) was followed by a similar structure as Day 2, which included participant arrival, pre-interview briefing, mock interview sessions conducted by two lecturers and mentor-mentee sessions facilitated by student mentors. The programme ended with a final debriefing session, marking the conclusion of the event.
