MyPSA National Pharmacy Debate Competition
The MyPSA National Pharmacy Debate Competition (NPDC) is an annual national debate competition under the Malaysian Pharmacy Students' Association (MyPSA), which involves 21 universities’ local societies in Malaysia. As a dynamic and learner-centred initiative, MyPSA NPDC aims to sharpen participants’ critical thinking skills, broaden their perspectives beyond the academic curriculum, and strengthen their confidence as future leaders in the healthcare sector.
This year, IMU Pharmacy Students’ Association (IPSA) is honoured to organise the 12th MyPSA NPDC 2026. The theme for 12th MyPSA NPDC 2026 is: "Voices That Shape the Future". This theme reflects the transformative power of debate in shaping the direction of pharmacy and healthcare. Through evidence-based arguments and intellectual discourse, participants refine their perspectives and challenge prevailing ideas. The competition serves as a platform for future pharmacists to develop the confidence, critical thinking, and advocacy skills needed to influence policies and professional practice. Ultimately, it emphasises that meaningful change begins with informed and courageous voices.
ACTIVITIES:
The competition will be conducted through multiple rounds, including three (3) Preliminary Rounds, one (1) Semi-Final Round and one (1) Grand Final Round. Each round will challenge teams to debate from both the affirmative and opposing perspectives on carefully curated, thought-provoking motions. A transparent and well-structured scoring system will be used to ensure fairness throughout the competition.
